Charities Day was a success thanks to the hard work by the form reps. and the staff in supporting the Sponsor forms and collecting in the non-uniform money. The Monitors again raised a substantial amount of money through the now famous ‘Calendars’. A Gharchok Stock night was held much to the delight of the senior part of the school. There was an excellent cake sale, dodge ball competition and various individual efforts. More people than ever joined us in the theme of 60’s 70’s and made the day special. We also had a guest speaker from Malawi to talk about the Water appeal in that country. Following Chapel we then had over 250 pupils’ process around the Cathedral Close to show their support for Clean Water For All Campaign. Our thanks to Mr. Rawlinson for helping to organise that event. Throughout the year various forms have held cake sales on a Friday to raise that bit extra. Thanks to Mrs. Tucker for generously giving us the free use of her room at break time for these sales. Finally 2T, who under the guidance of their form tutor Mrs. Locke, have been trying very hard to raise money to support the work of the Chernobyl charity and raise enough money to bring a child over from that part of Russia, so badly affected by the Chernobyl disaster many years ago. They have raised this money independently and are on target to achieve their dream. Without the charity form reps and the school's generosity none of this could have been achieved. |
